Golden Globes News: Songwriter, Clooney character converge at kudos — Art imitates life: When T Bone Burnett accepted the original song Golden Globe Feb. 17 for “The Weary Kind,” from “Crazy Heart,” he asked where the song’s co-writer, Ryan Bingham, was, then answered, “He must be ‘Up in the Air,’ ” a reference to the name of George Clooneys character in the Jason Reitman film (and a reference that seemed to be lost on the audience). While the real-life Bingham was enjoying a libation at the Beverly Hilton bar and missed the opportunity to accept his award onstage, the fictional Bingham was beat out for actor kudos by “Heart” star Jeff Bridges.
