Kara DioGuardi resurfaces as judge for Bravo’s songwriting competition Going Platinum

Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi will be the head judge for Bravo’s Going Platinum, which will be hosted by Jewel. The show, a renamed version of the singer/songwriter competition Hitmakers that the network announced last spring, is more Top Chef than Idol.

If there was any doubt in my mind that The Real Housewives is the new Real World–or at least, The Real World for people who’ve outgrown the MTV show–it was erased when I read the new book about the Bravo franchise. The Real Housewives Get Personal is a beautifully designed, full-color encyclopedia, basically, of all things Housewives, profiling the women from the first four seasons: O.C., New York City, Atlanta, and New Jersey.

Table-flipping Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe have filed for bankruptcy despite all of her spending on the show and her best-selling cookbook.
