The last original American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, has taken Simon Cowell’s spot at the right side of the judges’ table, and will comment last. Jennifer Lopez is in the middle, and Steven Tyler is on the left and will critique contestants first

Randy Jackson has Simon Cowell’s spot at the American Idol judges’ table
At 1 p.m. ET today, American Idol will officially announce something we already know: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson as judges for the show’s 10th season. Ryan Seacrest will make the announcement and that will be followed by a press conference, although it’s not clear if that’s going to be a real press conference or a bullshit one like ABC’s DWTS cast announcement.

After yesterday’s announcement that Ellen DeGeneres quit American Idol, reports say Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler are joining the judging panel and Kara DioGuardi’s contract hasn’t been renewed, so she’s effectively been fired. That means Randy Jackson will serve as the third judge and is the sole survivor.
